 1. Myth: Infertility is rare. It’s easy for most women to get pregnant.

Fact: Infertility affects an estimated 15% of couples globally, amounting to 48.5 million couples.


2. Myth: Infertility is a woman’s problem.

Fact: Males are found to be solely responsible for 20-30% of infertility cases and contribute to 50% of cases overall.



3. Myth: Age doesn’t affect fertility if you’re healthy. Plus, waiting to have children isn’t a problem because of new technology like in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Fact: The older a woman is, the more likely she is to have problems getting pregnant. Fertility doctors do their best to overcome advancing age using updated technologies like IVF, yet, women aged 35+ have about half the chances of getting pregnant than those between 19 and 26 yo. 


4. Myth: Conception is easy after one baby.

Fact: Secondary infertility, or infertility after one child, affects 10% of all couples.


5. Myth: Stress causes infertility. Just relax, and you’ll get pregnant!

Fact: Though stress is one of the major reasons for infertility, yet, for a majority of the infertile couples, stress cannot be directly linked as the major cause.
