The situation, however, is changing now.   Recent studies show that more and more women have started talking about their periods openly with their family members. Period or no period - take the jab! Fertility or infertility- take the jab!

Image
The fourth and biggest phase of COVID-19 vaccination in India is set to commence on May 01, 2021, with registrations soon opening up. The drive will allow a sizable adult population above the age of 18 to get vaccinated at a time when the country is facing the worst crisis since the pandemic began.  One such recent claim has actually pushed women into raising concerns about getting a COVID-19 vaccine jab while they are in the middle of their menstrual cycle. A social media post floating around mentions that menstruation "lowers" immunity for a woman, and hence, taking a vaccine, 5 days before, during or after your periods won't be safe and may not garner a sufficient response. Against all such rumours, the truth is: Vaccines are absolutely safe, period or no period. Most importantly, COVID-19 vaccines have been found to be safe in all concerns, and there is no truth to the matter that the vaccines would be harmful to take during your period cycle.  COVID vaccine can...

Colors Of Period Blood

Image
Have you ever wondered that why sometimes your period flow is a bit darker than the other days? Does the color and texture of the period blood has anything to warm you about? Can you understand the difference? "Yes", replies dr Suyesha Khanijao "The color of a female’s #period blood can relay #vital health information. For example, orange or grey blood can sometimes indicate a #vaginal infection . In most cases, the variation from bright red to dark red to brown has something to do with the flow and time the #blood has been in the #uterus . Your flow may be faster at the beginning of your period and trail off toward the end. You may have dark red blood after laying down for a long time, too."
