Period or no period - take the jab! Fertility or infertility- take the jab!

  The fourth and biggest phase of COVID-19 vaccination in India is set to commence on May 01, 2021, with registrations soon opening up. The drive will allow a sizable adult population above the age of 18 to get vaccinated at a time when the country is facing the worst crisis since the pandemic began.  One such recent claim has actually pushed women into raising concerns about getting a COVID-19 vaccine jab while they are in the middle of their menstrual cycle. A social media post floating around mentions that menstruation "lowers" immunity for a woman, and hence, taking a vaccine, 5 days before, during or after your periods won't be safe and may not garner a sufficient response. Against all such rumours, the truth is: Vaccines are absolutely safe, period or no period.   A couple can be said to be going through a phase of infertility if even after one year of unprotected intercourse they are unable to conceive.  Though there are several reasons for the couple to be infertile, who is more responsible, is not an easy question to be answered.
